Meetings
Our craft group meets on the 2nd and 3rd Thursday of the month at the Lighthouse located at 20 East Oak Street in Oakland. Hours are 9:30 until 11:30. If you can come for an hour that's fine too.
What we do
Four times a year, we make small favors for residents of local nursing homes and Meals on Wheels. Spring, July 4, Thanksgiving and Christmas. We make over 300 of them! We get a lot of our ideas from Pinterest. The favors are easy to make and do not require any great skill.
As we work, we get to know each other better - conversation is often lively and riddled with laughter. This 'work' is FUN!
But WAIT! There's more (FUN)!
In addition to the favors, our Club designs and donates a tree to the annual Festival of Trees event held by the Dove Center after Thanksgiving. The tree has a different theme each year and we try to make most of the ornaments for the tree. To do that, we have a party the first Thursday in November to gather and make the ornaments. And when we party, we PARTY! We start with a pot luck dinner (and wine!) then get creative. The 2024 tree theme is 'Mad for Plaid'
