Darla Soles - 2nd Vice-President Darla grew up as an Iowa farm girl; moved to Virginia in 1976, where she lived for 40+ years. Her career as a nurse anesthetist was very challenging & fulfilling. I met my second husband & soul-mate in 2000; we discovered & fell in love with Deep Creek Lake, built a log home, & 'weekended' for 15 years before moving here full time. Darla keeps busy with friends, working out, gardening, volunteering with the American Red Cross, the Civic Club, & homeowners association.
Joan Harvey - Corresponding Secretary Joan was born in Washington DC and raised in Rockville, Maryland. She graduated from the University of Maryland with a BSN and later an MSN in Nursing. She married Steve, a native Garrett County boy, and moved to Garrett County in 1982. She worked as a nurse, with a specialty in critical care for 41 years, and is now happily retired. Joan loves all things about nature, gardening, flowers, and has done a little with ceramics on the side. She lives and plays with Steve and Daisy the Dog happily in the woods.
